Jurnal Obsesi is a development of Jurnal PAUD STKIP Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai which was first published in volume 1 number 1 of 2015 with ISSN 2356-1327 (Print Media). Along with the change of its shape into Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai and for Journal Accreditation needs, the name of the journal became Journal of Jurnal Obsesi, starting Volume 1 Number 1 in the year 2017 with ISSN 2549-8959 (Online Media)

Since July 2018, Jurnal Obsesi has used a new domain https://obsesi.or.id

Jurnal Obsesi has been indexed on Grade 3 SINTA on  22 March 2025 from Volume 6 Issue 1 to Volume 10 Issue 2 2026
