Abstract

Di tengah tren peningkatan keluarga ibu tunggal yang fluktuatif secara nasional, literatur anak saat ini masih didominasi oleh narasi keluarga nuklir yang terjebak dalam fenomena pseudo-monoparentalitas serta pengaburan realitas keluarga nontradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi secara mendalam konstruksi makna visual serta resepsi afektif anak ibu tunggal terhadap representasi keberagaman keluarga melalui studi kasus kualitatif pada dua subjek berusia enam dan tujuh tahun. Dengan mengintegrasikan analisis wacana multimodal dan analisis resepsi mikro, penelitian ini mengungkap adanya hegemoni normativitas biparental yang sangat kuat meski figur ibu ditonjolkan secara dominan dalam berbagai ilustrasi buku cerita. Temuan utama menunjukkan fenomena affective avoidance, di mana anak mampu menginternalisasi narasi kasih sayang ibu, tetapi menunjukkan resistensi emosional yang signifikan terhadap visualisasi yang merefleksikan trauma kehilangan atau ketiadaan figur ayah secara jujur. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting pada pemahaman mengenai beban realisme dan mekanisme pertahanan diri psikologis anak terhadap representasi visual yang berpotensi memicu duka atau trauma emosional pribadi. Secara praktis, hasil riset ini merekomendasikan reorientasi strategi desain buku cerita sebagai instrumen validasi sosial dan ruang komunikasi aman bagi keluarga nontradisional guna memitigasi risiko alienasi emosional pada anak usia dini.

Anindita Putri, Desain, Institut Teknologi Bandung

Anindita Putri, S. Ds. adalah peneliti, ilustrator, penulis, dan desainer yang saat ini melanjutkan studi magister desain setelah lulus dari jurusan Desain Komunikasi Visual Institut Teknologi Bandung pada tahun 2025. Karyanya banyak berfokus pada buku anak, komunitas, serta isu parenting dan perkembangan anak. Selain aktif berkarya secara profesional, Anindita juga terlibat dalam riset akademik dan telah mempresentasikan penelitiannya di ranah internasional.

Riama Maslan Sihombing, Desain, Institut Teknologi Bandung

Dr. Riama Maslan Sihombing, M.Sn. adalah dosen dan peneliti di Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain (FSRD), Institut Teknologi Bandung. Beliau memiliki kepakaran di bidang Desain Komunikasi Visual dengan fokus penelitian pada ilustrasi buku anak, komunikasi visual, dan multimedia. Riset-risetnya selama puluhan tahun menitikberatkan pada pengembangan literasi visual melalui media buku cerita, yang telah dipublikasikan secara luas di berbagai jurnal nasional maupun internasional.
