Pandemi Covid -19 memberikan dampak yang besar, tidak hanya dari segi kesehatan namun hingga ke ranah pendidikan bahkan hingga bagaimana anak mengonsumsi gadget. Orang tua memiliki faktor penting dalam menentukan kebijakan penggunaan smartphone oleh anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana mediasi orang tua dalam penggunaan gadget pada anak generasi alpha pasca pandemi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dan paradigma konstruktivisme. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara terhadap 8 pasang orang tua dan 2 orang single parent yang memiliki anak generasi alpha dengan profesi beragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua merenapkan mediasi aktif namun juga restriktif, aktif berdiskusi namun juga memberikan pembatasan. Perkembangan mediasi orang tua seharusnya tidak lagi harus melihat apakah mediasi yang dilakukan aktif, coviewing/co-playing, permissive ataupun restriktif, namun harus melihat tujuan akhir dari mediasi ini. Mediasi orang tua merupakan sebuah proses interaksi orang tua sebagai gatekeeping informasi yang diperoleh anak. Proses ini bisa bergerak dari aktif, coviewing, permisif hingga restriktif. Sehingga pola mediasi bisa dikatakan dapat berubah berdasarkan pada dampak dari mediasi pada perilaku anak, umur anak yang makin dewasa dan hubungan antara orang tua-anak.
