Lesson Study diyakini sebagai upaya ampuh dalam peningkatan kompetensi guru karena diprakarsai oleh guru dan bersifat kolaboratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana pengaruh penerapan lesson study terhadap kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi professional guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) di tiga kecamatan Kabupaten Batang Hari. Penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik studi kasus ini melibatkan sebanyak 15 orang guru pada kegiatan lesson study berbasis saintifik dalam 2 siklus selama lebih kurang satu semester. Pengumpulan data diperoleh berdasarkan observasi serta wawancara terfokus terhadap partisipan yang terlibat. Selanjutnya analisis data menggunakan teknik Miles & Huberman, yakni reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan lesson study berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi profesional guru. Implikasi dan penelitian lanjutan juga didiskusikan.
