Pada masa anak usia dini dapat diyakini menjadi masa kritis untuk perkembangan anak, karena pada usia ini anak memiliki kecerdasan dan dapat mengenal keterampilan dasar dalam mempelajari literasi anak-anak sangat menakjubkan. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh media buku cerita rakyat melayu Riau terhadap kemampuan literasi budaya anak usia 5-6 tahun. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dan sampel di kelas budaya berjumlah sebanyak 18 orang anak usia 5-6 tahun. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji hipotesis dengan bantuan IMB SPSS Windows V.26.0. Di dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengumpulkan data dari data primer yang didapatkan melalui observasi. Hasil penelitian gain ternormalisasi menggunakan media buku cerita rakyat melayu Riau terhadap kemampuan literasi budaya pada anak dengan kategori sedang. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dalam mengembangkan dan memperkenalkan cerita rakyat Melayu Riau berbasis budaya lokal pada anak usia 5-6 tahun.
