Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model penanganan PDBK speech delay. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi pada pembelajaran dan penanganan PDBK speech delay, wawancara terhadap kepala sekolah, guru, dan orang tua, serta dokumen untuk mengetahui prosedur model penanganan. Model penanganan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini menggunakan model IPTERE yang merupakan kepanjangan dari identification, playing, therapy, environment, religious, evaluation (IPTERE). Identifikasi (identification) melalui proses awal dari model penanganan PDBK, proses bermain (playing) yang merupakan proses belajar mengajar, terapi (therapy), sedangkan relijius (religious) adalah nilai-nilai karakter Islami yang ditumbuhkan dan evaluasi (evaluation) menjadi proses akhir dari model penanganan. Dampak dari penanganan IPTERE pada PDBK dengan keterlambatan berbicara adalah peningkatan keterampilan berbahasa reseptif dan produktif pada PDBK speech delay.
